We will again be offering both Flu and Covid vaccines at our 2025 clinics. Flu vaccines will be available for children ages 6 months and up. Covid vaccines will be available for children 6 months through 11 years of age (please note: we will not have Covid vaccines for children ages 12 and up).
As you may be aware the CDC has recently updated its guidelines for pediatric COVID vaccines and has recommended a process of shared clinical decision making for most families. This means that whether or not your child receives the COVID-19 vaccine should be based on a discussion between your family and your healthcare provider, taking into account your child’s individual health and circumstances.
The American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) recommends that all children ages 6 through 23 months should receive a Covid-19 vaccine unless they have known allergies to the vaccine or its ingredients. For children 2-18 years of age, the AAP recommends a single dose of the vaccine if they are at high risk of Covid-19, residents of long-term care facilities, have never been vaccinated against Covid-19, or live in a household with people who are at high risk for Covid-19. Additionally, the AAP recommends that the vaccine should be available for all children whose parent or guardian desires their protection from COVID-19 even if they are not in these risk groups.
Because of the change in CDC guidelines, insurance coverage for the COVID-19 vaccine may vary. We encourage you to check with your insurance company to confirm whether the vaccine is covered before scheduling. The CPT code for the Moderna Spikevax® (COVID-19 Vaccine, mRNA) 2025-2026 Formula, 0.25 mL Prefilled Syringe is 91321 - you will need to reference this code when you call your insurance company. In the event that the Covid vaccine is not covered, you would be responsible to pay out-of-pocket at a cost of $125 per dose (Please note: children aged 6 months through 23 months will need two doses if this is their first time receiving the vaccine).
